if you really need a drain plug in a concourse restoration it is noy out of
the question at all! see your local welder and cut out the required aerea
with plenty of excess metal from the original tank. remove the drain
plug/dending unit/and leave the gas cap off. rinse out with water and ivory
snow soap a lot of times! let it bake in the sun for a couple of days too .
drill a small pilot hole and then a large enough hole to slip tin snips
into. working a little bit at a time you will safely be able to extract the
piece you want. take it to your local welding shop and explain what you
want it to look like(location of drain plug ). have him position it and
weld it in place. dress of the welds and then you can solder the aerea
around the welds and smooth out the job .
then finish with a quality primer and spray finish color !

CAUTION!!!! empty gas tanks are highly explosive!!! even if it has sat
around for years with alegedly no gas in it!!!

if you can't cut your original tank get an opinion from your local welding
shop. in case of a dangerous operation always consult a professional
before you attempt it your self. better safe than sorry!!!
remember this can be dangerous! talk to a radiator repair shop or a
welding shop for some local hands on advise!! radiator shops sometimes do
gas tank soldering on small leaks.

chuck.
is it bravery or stupidity?
DONT ANSWER THAT..ok?
