On a related subject: I was called last weekend by a gentleman who stated he
was restoring a Bugeye and needed a bonnet. I told him to find a friend with
a pickup truck and come on down to my place.

Turns out he is in his sixties and a retired "Master Electrician". He had
severe heart problems a few years ago and restoring old cars in his barn is
how he passes the time now. Her has trouble with basic motor skills but
working at his hobby clams him down. He was breeding dogs as a hobby (Bishon
Friese or however you spell that). Turns out a farmer aquaintance was really
interested in acquiring a puppy but had no money. My man asked him if he had
anything to trade. He said he had an old LBC sitting in his barn. A deal was
struck and 30 minutes later a Bugeye in a million pieces was unceremoniously
dumped off the back of a pickup in exchange for the puppy.

Anyway, turns out his bonnet is damaged and rusted beyond salvation. So I
GAVE him 4 of the bonnets I had in my garage. For free..... I told him to
bring back the parts he didn't use.

Then I sold to him for $80 (all he had in his pocket) a flywheel, complete
1.125" carb setup, boot floor panel, heater box with core and engine back
plate.

He looked just like a kid at Christmas time. His eyes positively lit up as
he loaded the stuff on his little trailer. He said he will certainly come
back for more.

His wife called later in the day to thank me again.

Just goes to show you: there is pleasure in both giving and receiving.

P.S. yesterday I "adopted" an entire Bugeye cut in three including (you
guessed it) another bonnet.
