There is large and interesting section on fuels in David Vizard's book - 
Performance with Economy.  It is the only book I have (and I have a lot) that 
has info of any depth on fuel.  There is whole book on POL (petrol, oil and 
lubricants) but I don't own a copy.

The 100LL AVGAS is 100 Octane Low Lead (the high lead stuff would be 
interesting)
