Maybe a dumb question, but your head does say 12G940 on it and not
12G202/206/295 or similar?  1098 heads over in the UK have an extra water
hole between 2 and 3 cylinders whilst '940s (1275 Midget/Mini/Metro/Turbo)
don't have them.
