Sort of, you see it was a cold fall evening and I was drinking my vodka on the
rocks out of the small glass, the 32 oz tumbler, since the big glass was in
dishwasher.
Well after a couple of these, 4, I passed out and spill number 5 onto the dog.
When I woke up I was starting to get a hang over. Since the best cure is
more liquor I had to think quick. After about 5 minutes, which is quick for
a drunk, I came up with a plan. I since it was a cold evening, the vodka
that was spilled on the sap laden dog had not evaporated. I grabbed a rag
and wiped the vodka off the dog. I then wrung out the rag into the 32 oz
tumbler. When I was done I had about 15 oz. of vodka, which I drank. It
had a bit of a pine tastes but it was nice. A bit later when I was talking
to the wife she asked about the hangover. That when I told her I cured
it with "Some Hair of the Dog." So now you know who and when that phrase
was coined.

PS. That noise you just heard was a rimshot.
