Larry,

let me clarify, what I mean..
The standard disk brakes themselves are 'over engineered' for a car the size 
and 
weight of the sprite, however the mechanical advantage of the brake pedal 
itself 
is less than desirable. What the car needs is really a better master cylinder 
set up, or a brake booster to give it better pedal feel, and less effort. Just 
putting the 'big brake' kit on, won't help the car stop any faster/shorter, and 
if you brake too hard, the wheels are just going to lock up anyway, and there 
isn't any advantage in that - these cars are just too damn light.
