Wiring an Amp Meter

My car had an Amp guage when I got it, but the guage has nnever
worked (permanently reads about 10 + amps). I found a good Smiths
Amp guage at a autojumble/swap meet on the week end and will fit that.

It has aoccured to me that it is possible that my current one (no pun
intended) may have blown up due to inappropriate wiring. It looks OK
as far as my limited knowledge goes, but I'd appreciate another
opinion.

The DPO has disconnected the thick brown wire from the "A" terminal
of the voltage regulator, connected a wire to that terminal that goes
to one side of the amp guage, then the wire from the other side of
the guage connects up to the thick brown wire previously disconnected.

Is this arrangement OK?

It is a 1963 positive earth car.

Thanks again

Greg
