Pat and list,
To make new door skins for my Bugeye, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a couple
of yards of vinyl (black). I think it was $2 or $3 a yard. (Now, can I
please be granted official membership to the we tight club?) I held it up to
the door and cut it with ordinary scissors to cover the inside of the door
and the door pockets. I used something else at Wal-Mart to stick the stuff
down. It was called household glue. It was with the paints, sandpaper,
caulking, and adhesive stuff. It cost a couple of bucks per tube and was
basically like clear caulking (no heavy glue smell and the same
"I-can-come-off-fairly-easily-if-you-really-need-me-to-without-falling-off-too-easily"

consistency). It gave great results in the summertime (didn't set too
quickly and allowed me to reposition slightly as I needed to), not sure how
easy it will be to work with in the winter, but then you can always use it
in your sate-of-the-art heated shop that each member of the list has. I
went back a month or so later when I was doing some more stuff and had run
out of adhesive and got some that was a little cheaper. I don't remember
what this stuff was called, but it stunk (in both ways). It set too quickly
and left stringy residue everywhere and smelled horribly (good thing the
Sprite doesn't qualify as an "enclosed" area). Hope that helps.
Ryan
