I agree.... but...
they have a point. Once the wreck was located, I'm sure plenty of divers
would have not respected the grave/wreck. As such, maybe raising the bluebird
and giving donald a regular burial might be the better of the two scenarios.
It would be nice to think people would leave the site alone, but I don't think
it's realistic. I could just see someone claiming salvage on it, raising it,
and selling it on eBay. At least the project is treating it with the respect
that Donald deserved, and are doing it to preserve the historic value of the
racer rather than profit from it.

It is sad indeed, especially since it is against the express wishes of
Donald and his widow. His widow has spoken out about the raising
of the Bluebird, saying that Donald would have wanted to be left
alone and buried with his bluebird, left where he fell doing the thing
he loved.
No respect for the dead.
