Hello list,-----I have a part I need to identify. Before I opened the bag , I
thought it was going to be part #2A4006 which is a bronze thrust washer in
the suspension. The part in the bag turned out to be a part of identical size
and shape only made of steel with a spiral groove cut into it for, I presume,
better grease flow. The label attached to this steel washer said 2A3027, but
this was crossed out and "Leyland 10D73 E.P. was written over it. Could this
steel washer be a replacement for the original bronze one?
Also, are the shims for this assembly a common universal part which I can buy
from, say, an electric motor overhaul shop? As far as that goes, is the thrust
washer itself a common "over-the-counter" item?
I'm going into town to try to answer my own question but your feed back
would help.
 Thanks,----Bob Chamberlain
