You are correct! One of MiniMania's
$4,000+ 1380's will beat the Judson
equipped car in an all out race, no
doubt about it.

But, who's racing? Not me.

I am looking for a high torque, low-
rpm set-up for the street. That's not
the 1380. I wanna be "quick", not
"fast"; I'm not racing!

I'll settle for the Delrin vane Judson and
Dean Hedin's water injection set-up
on my little 8.0-1 1275 with Cooper S
cam, alum rad and head, coated headers,
RC40 and large diameter exhaust, modified Aldon dizzy and 210 5-spd.
"smaller" wheel for the 948's original
boost curve on the larger engine, "redllined" at 5,000rpm. No high
rotational
stress here.

I've already run normally aspirated
"tuned" units getting 80hp+ at the
rear wheels. They are fun but you've
got to wind them up to get the torque.
Lots of rotational stress. Lots of "noise",
too!

Whatever "floats your boat" but, I'm
not goin' racing! Just keeping up with
modern traffic.

First off, are you sure it is appropriate for a 1275? A lot of people have
tried to put a supercharger designed for the 948 on a 1275. The extra 325
ccs make a big difference. I am not sure how to tell them apart (or if
judson ever made one for the 1275) but maybe others on the list can help out.
That being said, I would not use it even if it were the right one. People
will pay big bucks for it and you can use the money to build a 1380 big bore
motor that will crush anything with that Judson on it.
