They are if you mount them upside down. That would eliminate the gasoline 
leak problem I hear about.  To do this, you have to also invert the intake 
manifold, which requires a bit of grinding  in order that the inner flange 
does not foul the 2nd and 3rd studs.  Of course assembly is the reverse of 
assembly.
