yes.
you being of the land of extreme temperature changes over a season may
experience a problem with adhesion of the silicone to the badge and a
difrence in expansion and contraction over time leading you to be missing
the badge sooner or later. i'd rather suggest a few strips of the butal /
rubber tape with adhesive on both sides that is used to attach body side
mouldings and the "stick on" type adhesive exterior emblems on modern cars.
try this trick! take the emblem to local body shop. ask the manager if he
can help you out with what they would use to attach an emblem like that.
more likely than not he will give you about 6 to 12 inches of the stuff for
free!. ( you do not want to buy the stuff on a 50 foot roll! now in
aplication... make positive the rear of the emblem is as clean and grease /
wax / polish free as possible (wash in kitchen sink carefully with a good
detergent). carefully clean out the plinth with a similar detergent.
using a clean(read that fresh dry) paper towel dry off both pieces and
resist the temptation to "feel " the now clean surface with that nasty
finger full of oil wich your skin produces. apply a few strips of the tape
to the emblem , remove the peel off plastic protective stuff and press into
it's plinth. finished! ta-da!!!! the tape will comprensate for
expansion and contraction due to it's elastic properties, and the emblem
will be there for a very-very long time!

chuck
groovy or what?
