front hub bearings question

Hello everyone,
could you please tell me which side(s) of the front hub bearings should
face the tapered metal spacer between them?

The Haynes book says to look for the side marked THRUST but my new
bearings say "SKF W AUSTRIA 7303B" and "SKF W AUSTRIA 7502B"
respectively, on their outer races, i.e. there is no "THRUST" marking
anywhere.

Plus, I'm not sure the old bearings were installed in the hub in the
correct order to take that as a guide.
