Anyone with experience with gilmer belt drive type timing gears, please
contact me on or off list with your experience. I have a fairly new used
one (similar to the one below) that I'm contemplating using on a my 948
race built engine. My concern is that I can see by the inside cover that
the belt walked off the end of the cam gear, making contact with the cover.
There is a lip only on the rearside of the gear. Is there a problem with
this one or is this typical? I also have a new set of duplex gears and
chain I can use, so I can go either way. One advantage of the belt drive is
the cam gear as adjustable and it will be used with the VP7 cam.
