If I recall correctly, the stock dizzy for the
'74 is a smog type unit which gets it's vacuum signal from the intake
manifold.
Go to Paul Tegler's website:
www.teglerizer.com
and click on distributor advance curves
to find out more about your dizzy's mechanical and vacuum advance curves
and under what circumstances the
vacuum is applied, and to what extent.
Make sure the ser.# of your unit matches
the ser.# of the curve you're looking at
on the site!!
