I find that I have been using this centering procedure for years before I knew 
it
was a procedure.  I must have learned the technique from somewhere.  Perhaps 
most
of what I've always owned and worked on have been so sensitive or fragile that
they all needed this kind of care.  Or maybe it's my pessimism that was always
telling me it might leak so I'd better be careful.
