Jorge,

Without having the DMV papers for your Frogeye/Bugeye, which should have the
chassis ID, I really hope you find one ID tag on the car- the BMIHT (British
Motor Industry Heritage Trust) in England can give you all relevant "build
sheet" identification from either the body number (plate fixed nside the
door pillar), the chassis number (plate on frame under the carbs), or the
engine number (plate riveted to the engine)- provided that is the original
engine, which may not be likely in a race car. The number stamped right into
the metal on top the frame in the engine compartment on the right hand side
of the car has not been recorded by anyone and will be of no help.

By the way- I know normally clubs do that, but is there any interest in a
Spridget register for this list, to help "build up" the history of our cars?
Or has a club already got all relevant info- but would they be willing to
share? I tried to get the past history of my Lotus 7, with no luck- the
Lotus Club registrar in England took the info I gave him, including frame #,
Chassis ID, Carbs and engine #- but that was all for the club benefit and
not mine (except for knowing the car is genuine), and he passed on none of
the past history of the car to me- and I know the car was registered with
the club long before I bought it... Anyways, Just a thought!
