Congrats, my friend!

Congrats to John, for while your time
may be short in accordance with the contract no doubt put out by "Cats
United Against Deikis, you have lucked
out in the distribtor department....as Peter C. states, #40819
is the Cooper "S" dizzy according to
"the book" and maybe Pete can tell us
what the "k" stands for 'cause I haven't
got a clue.

BTW, if you went to a NAPA store for
a reconditioned mechanical advance Lucas 23D4 distributor (Part #48-400
or
#48400), this is the curve you would get.
Goes for around $85.00 a year or so ago,
it I recall correctly (which I may not 'cause
I'm "officially old" so it's ok if I don't...OK!).

According to the factory maintenance
manual:

Static Setting 7 BTDC
Dyn. " 22 " @ 1200rpm

Advance curve...crankshaft degrees

0 - 3 @ 600 rpm
6 - 12 1000
11- 15 2000
22- 26 5200
28- 32 7000

For the 8.8-1 1275...
this is supposed to be a WOT acceleration curve, the compatible
fuel of the day specified at not less
than 94RON or 97-99RON "when
optimum performance is required".

So, adding a conservative 3 points
to come up with RON from PON, your
good to go with 91PON as a minimum.

Of course, "optimum performance
when required" is not defined. Assume
this means extended WOT over time?
(I have no clue!:)
