Nah, John...

We got a bunch up CT way that are the
same. It is truly amazing and is responsible for a lot of quarter rear
enders
which is the maneuver police use in pursuits to cause the pursuee to
lose
control of his machine.

On the Thruway, this is usually accompanied by pulling out of the
"slow" lane without accelerating sufficiently, so as to avoid cutting
off the guy coming down the road in the next
lane at a faster (but legal) pace...which
is usually a 70K+lb. 18 wheeler.

The lack of situational awareness caused
by "distraction" or whatever is absolutely
unbeeleevable. A buddie's wife wrecked
their new Audie TT as she adjusted her
makeup on a limited access highway
in moderate to heavy traffic when the
guy ahead of her slowed down "suddenly"
(her perception) as traffic came upon
a construction zone...she didn't even
try! Caroomed right off his left quarter,
"rolled" left over the divider and came
down on her roof in the opposite lanes
which fortunately, were unoccupied at
the time. Walked away unscathed thanx
to modern restraint system backed up
by air bags and modern crash cage
construction.

Just going down the road "distracted"
and not paying attention....but she's
scared when they elevate the terrorism
warning level!! Amazing.
