Ditto what Frank said ... get a quart of 80/140 at your local
automotive store.  I check and top up the differential at least
once a year, whether it needs it or not.

IMHO, the key is regular maintenance, not the "correct" oil.

The new multi grades are much better then straight 90 which was all they 
had back when they wrote the book.
