Jim, having done this there are 2 things to change. One is the adapter
in the engine block for the oil pressure gauge. The one that is there
is electric. Just run over to home despot and grab a few 1/4" brass
fittings. You can get a kit for the oil line and with adapters and a
plastic tube at SlepBoys for about $20. For the temp sending unit you
need an adapter that is as hard to find as rocking horse sh*t, if you
ask for a Spridget one. it happens to be exactly the same adapter as
the MGB uses. It is really a spacer that the temp probe screws into and
then screws into the top of the water pump housing. The one that is
already there for the electric temp gauge doesn't fit the mechanical.
One other thing to note is most of the gauges have the wrong chrome
trim ring on them for the Midget. But it is a simple matter to take the
one off the old gauge and stick it on the new one. Clean the glas while
you are in there ;-)
