Yep, a busy weekend for sure! Kathy and I dropped by Britfest Saturday morning.
I only bumped into Frank and Larry - the rest of the listers must have been
wandering in places other than we were (though I did see Larry again around the
Triumphs, *after* he scoffed at me for going that way! :):) ) Congrats, guys,
for a near sweep of the awads! :)

Saturday afternoon I cleaned off the gearbox and changed the oil in it (1500
box, so it's sealed at both ends). I still need a couple of bits of rubber hose
to repair the rear gearbox mount.

Sunday I was at Bike New York - a 42 mile ride through the five boroughs. What
a blast! I haven't cycled much recently, but it was a relatively easy ride. My
legs are fine, though I am a little saddle sore! (Gel seat comfort. HA!) We
started out at Ground Zero, headed up 6th Ave to Central Park, through Harlem,
popped into the Bronx for a short loop, then back down the FDR, then over (I
think) the Queensboro bridge into Queens, down the BQE into Brooklyn, to the
Belt Parkway, and over the Verrazzano Bridge to Staten Island. Whew! All in
all, about a 5 1/2 hour ride, and a lot of fun. The Staten Island Ferry brought
us back to Battery Park, almost where we started. I'm already planning for next
year, and I'm definitely planning to go to the bike shop for a better saddle!
