David (Riker),

You not only build beautiful cars, but write a damn good letter to boot.

You make many excellent points.

Dave (Deutsch) is taking this way too personal and shouldn't leave the list. I
have met Dave myself and was impressed with his interest in the cars and his
club.

I think Spridgets and their owners are best served by their own organization.
They don't have a natural relation to A's, B's, T's, etc. After all, they were
created as an Austin-Healey.

The Healey Clubs, as much as they may like to say otherwise, have never exactly
made room for Sprites. At best, Sprites are are humored by the majority and
Midgets are welcome only in public parking. And which one do you join? AHSTC is
a
great club but is only regional. I am a member of AHCUSA due to their excellent
monthly magazine, but they aren't affiliated with the Healey Club in the
Northeast.

The Healey club that serves the Northeast includes all 6 New England states as
well as western NY and holds only 2-3 events each year in each state. I don't
know what the current dues are, but when they reached the price of a nice coffee
table book, I canceled my membership. I found that the financial structure of
that organization was something I was no longer willing to support.

For my money, this list serves the Spridget owners better than anything before
it
and anything since. There are no chiefs; we're all equal with some being a
little
more equal than others, :-) and except for the occasional miscommunication that
characterizes email in general, there aren't any/many personality conflicts.

One point that someone touched on is the fact that there is no Spridget class at
most, if not all, shows. I have even attempted to park my Sprite with the
Midgets
and have never been allowed, even for display only (unjudged).

So back to my main point. Dave (Deutsch), stick around.
