Steering Rack

My steering rack on my '79 has too much play in it and I am going to replace 
it with the '73 rack on the parts car in the back yard, which seems to be 
tighter.  Any caveats I need to be aware of when making the switch?  It looks 
pretty straightforward.  This is one of the areas I haven't been into until 
now.  Thanks.
