installing the rubber plug in the tranny tunnel solved MY hot
foot problem.. guess you've already done that......
as to the cable thingy... repair as per gerard, OR... when mine
broke, i went to the auto parts store and bought a generic hood
release cable, complete with black knob... pull the cable from
the sheath, cut the sheath to lenght with a pair of dikes, (or
any available wire cutters) cut put the cable back in, cut it
to length, and voila.... the PO had already installed a
seperate switch for controlling the fan itself, a simple rocker
switch... NOT original, but a perfectly functional solution. i
think the cable was about $8.
