There is (or was) a timing mark on the pulley.
It's just on the bottom ;) Bottom dead center?
So if you climb under and line up the timing mark, The rotor will be 
pointing to the #1 plug wire on the cap.
It is the wire at about 2 o-clock on the dizzy cap.
