Don't waste your time. The key is that the FDIC REQUIRES banks to clear the
funds for cashiers checks in 1 to 5 days, but the check can actually take
weeks to clear and you are still liable. The amount is generally quite
adequate to hurt your personal finances significantly, but not enough to
interest the FBI.
