Lovely story, Daniel, but, alas, untrue. (Never believe anything that
insists repeatedly that it is true.).
There is a lovely website at www.snopes.com that bears looking into anytime
that you feel inclined to pass on one of these bits of rubbish. In fact, if
you go to http://www.snopes.com/business/consumer/cookie.asp you can see
this particular tale de-bunked for yourself. You can also go to
http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/service/nmAbout.jhtml#cookie and see what
Nieman-Marcus says about it.
You owe it to all of your friends to do a little research before passing on
such tripe.
