That old story about a guy who bought a stolen BMW....

I was just thinking about that story that went around a while back about the
guy who bought an M series BMW, and then found out it was a salvaged car put
back together with stolen parts (or something like that).  

 

Does anyone remember more to the story, or remember the outcome?  I can't
find anything in the archives..  as usual.
