And "cinder blocks", ie concrete blocks don't count as jack stands.  I was
working on a car supported by blocks once and listening to the local radio.
There was a news flash about a guy just a short distance away who had just been
killed by a car that collapsed a cinder block.

Jack stands are cheap.
