Hi ALL,

On Sunday June 16th an Oshit meeting was held at my place in Tamaqua,
Pa.

In attendance were list members;

Frank C.
Bill G.
Larry M.
Chris K.
Brian S.
Dan W.
Kevin V. (me)

Also, Rob V (my son) and Andy Smarr (Owner of one of the projects for
the day)

Rob posted a picture page (with captions) at;

http://www.valentinephoto.net/oshitmeeting/

He apologizes for any misspelling of words or names (Larry ;)

The day started about 9:00am and ended at about 9:30pm. We completely
dismantled one rubber bumper Midget and put another rubber bumper
Midget back on the road. Larry M. started the rebuild on his fast road
engine but the attempt was thwarted when he discovered his camshaft was
pitted to badly to install in the engine.

The following is a partial list of the projects completed in the 12
hour Oshit;

Projects completed on Andy's car;

Completely rebuilt the brakes, On the front - new rotors, pads,
calipers, and brake hoses. On the rear - new wheel cylinders, shoes,
and brake hose. Brakes were flushed and bled with DOT4.
Front wheel bearings - checked packed with grease and replaced as
necessary.
Installed headlight bucket and headlights
Installed taillight assemblies
Rewired dash, wipers and lights
Installed new tach and combo gauge
Installed bonnet release cable, choke cable, and accelerator cable.
Rebuilt the carburetor and installed new radiator hoses, spark plugs,
points and condenser, (it has a 25D dizzy)
Inspected the steering and greased.
Removed the fogged windscreen and installed a good used windscreen
(from Brian's parts car).
Installed the bonnet and seats.
Removed and replaced the drivers door.

Rob's 74 Midget;

Removed front fenders, bonnet, grill and cowl and installed a bugeye
bonnet.

Brian's Parts car;

We completely disassembled Brian's rubber bumper Midget. (Every nut
and bolt was removed and the tub was cut into 3 pieces for easy
disposal). It was a complete car when it arrived in Tamaqua (it rolled
nicely off Brian's trailer).

There was some welding done on Brian's trailer before he went home. He
now can attach a winch...... ;)

There were a few more projects but I didn't take the time to write the
projects down as we were doing them.

All in all - a great day! Andy is going to join the list as soon as
his wife or one of his daughters teach him to us their computer.

Check out the picture page to see who was caught napping and Frank's
new "Stretch Spridget". (among other things)

Kevin V.
