Hi Larry,
I've used std. 1098 pistons in 948 blocks before. That's +625 over. How I
did it was not the best, as the pin to piston top height is different
between the 948 and 1098 piston. This meant I needed to deck the block and
the head to get the compression ratio up. Then this threw off the rocker
arm positions.
Then someone told me I should simply use the 1098 pistons with the 998 mini
engine rods. The rods are longer and brings it up to normal specs!!! Wish
I'd found that out earlier!
I have NOS 1098 std pistons that I'd sell at a very attractive price if you
want to go that way.
