You might get half the air out this way but certainly not it all.
There are bound to be some high points where air will collect and will not
move unless forced out.

One person bleed kits are quite cheep and can in fact me made from some
silicone tubing with a small fine slit in the side and the end blocked off.
This is the placed in a jar of clean fluid. The pressure of the fluid will
force it out through the slit but air/fluid will not be sucked back in.
Saying that the kits are cheap so probably not worth the effort to make IMHO

Have used this many time with great success.
