Float level set too low in one carb. Once at higher RPM the carb slowly
runs low on fuel. In your case when you slow down, the level has a
chance to catch up again and acts normal again. When it does it again,
stop immediately and open the bonnet, feel the dashpots, the
malfunctioning one will be warm and the working one will be cold. I had
a sticking needle in one carb after a few weeks of not driving, and it
acted exactly like that at idle after running perfectly pulling out of
the garage. Found it when I touched the dashpots.
