Thread-topic: Hooray for Moss Motors - Well Done
Hi All, thru my several years on these Lists I've seen many posts about
poor quality parts from Moss (as well as others). A few weeks ago I
posted a warning about a defective Big Healey rocker arm shaft that
could spoil an engine builder's day.... seriously spoil it. Anyway, I
was able to cope with the problem myself and not hassle with returning
the shaft. It turns out that word of this reached the desk of Michael
Grant who is in charge of a program at Moss to look into such matters.
I had never suspected that Moss would do anything more than just replace
the shaft with another bad one. But, I was selling them short. They
took the problem to task and checked every rocker arm shaft in their
inventory and from their source (with the same part number) so as to
cull out bad ones and prevent this from happening to anyone else.
During our phone conversation today I told him about a similar problem
with the rocker arm shaft for my 1275 which I bought in late 2003. He
was glad to get this information and assured me that they would
investigate that potential problem the same way. This seems to me to be
a genuine effort toward improved quality control and customer
satisfaction and I say Thank You to Moss for this.
Jack
