I owned Augie's 67.5 Datsun up until last week. I raced it for 3 seasons and just now sold it to a fella in California.

As much as I like the TR4, the Datsun really is a lot more nimble with a lot of torq and rev's.

I remember both Bill and Auggie Englehardt from the late 60's and early
70's. That 100-4 of Augie's would really run. When I met Bill for the first
time in many many years I asked him about Augie's 100-4 and was pleased to
find out that he still had the car and was thinking about bringing it out of
retirement. As I recall, Auggie went on to buy a Datsun 2000 and found a way
to make that car really run too. When my friend who was racing a TR4 at the
time decided to go back to school for his Doctorate my crew days were over.
Those were very enjoyable days with some pretty amazing memories of the
races and sometimes just getting to the races made the most memories. Lots
of money was spent on the race car but not too much on the tow car.
Consequence was that the tow car broke on occasion getting to the races.
Looking back it seems rather counter productive but as some say "That's
racing".

Dear FOT,

Back in the late 60s and through the 70s, this college friend of mine was
racing an Austin Healey 104. We would help each other with our cars, and
go
together to the races. He is now in the process of restoring this car,
and
thinking about doing some vintage racing.

Does anyone know where he can find 10:1 CR. Pistons? He was using John's
Pistons, but is not sure if they are still in business or where to find
them.
Also, is there a list similar to FOT that he could join for information?

His name is: Auggie Englehardt.
His email address is: Kashia111@aol.com
