My guess on the clutch not returning is a rusty pivot on the pedals 
themselves.
A sure test is watch the "other pedal" when you push one down, if it 
moves even a little, its rusted around the pivot bolt.
Easy fix but it MUST ne fixed or you will engage the brakes while 
stepping on the clutch.
