Just for the record, a Mustang straight six and three speed will fit a '64
Spridget just fine if you reshape the firewall slightly, weld up the stock
carb flange and weld three SU flanges on the side of the manifold, and find
a low profile oil cap. You'll only need 2nd and 3rd gear, you'll have to do
most of the steering with your right toe, and you'll spend your weekends
replacing axle shafts, but it'll fit. You'll also have to mount a remote oil
filter on the inner fender. If you add a polished valve cover and three
chrome air filters, people will ask you if it's from a big Healey.
