Hi, Chris....

you've probably picked up the normal sediment that forms at the bottom of any
fuel tank in service for reasonable time, even though there is a "net" (keeps
out the
big stuff but not the small stuff) over the
end of the pick-up in the tank.

Your fuel pump most likely is a bit clogged
with this stuff so most likely, is a bit short
on fuel delivery. If it's an SU type pump, it
can be taken apart and cleaned out. Otherwise, a new SU or modern electronic
(Facet low pressure) is in order.

You want to install a filter BEFORE the fuel
pump. The Facet can be had with it's own
filter for this purpose. Otherwise, pick up
a generic filter and install same in the rubber line between tank and pump.

At this point....
another filter prior to the carb is simply
icing on the cake in this respect....but not
really necessary....just nice to have. :)

Open the fuel bowls and check for any sediment lying on the bottom which, if
present, should be cleaned out.

Lambert's problem later....gotta go to work!:)
