I buy every once in a while on ebay and I find it a big asset in many ways.
I have found many supposedly impossible to find parts for my Lotus Seven. I
do miss Import Carlisle being worth the drive up there. Anyway to the point
to what Mike was stating. . .

A bid is a bid is a bid, no matter when it is placed. It sounds like you
have money to throw away by placing a high proxy bid in the beginning so the
price can be pushed up needlessly by the sellers cousin or possibly another
bidder. If you mess with ebay enough you will discover that sniping is the
name of the game and any serious buyer will do it to obtain what they truly
want.
