Same here. For example, I once got chastised by my parents for asking the 
neighbors how much their new
car cost. I'm sure it had to do with being brought up by children of the 
Depression coupled with the fact there were people in our small, rural 
community that really didn't have a pot to pee in. In any case, I lament the 
passage of this trait.
