Just heard on NPR a report of a new device at the Consumer Electronics Show in
Las Vegas.
It's called a turntable, has an arm on it you can put something like a needle
in it called a cartridge. You can play old vinyl records like 33, 45 and 78
RPM on it. It has a USB cable on it to connect to a computer. That way you
can digitize your old vinyl, you know, the ones that last 100 years, and put
them on your computer hard drive and make it last 18 months or so or until it
crashes.
It comes with software to remove the hisses and pops on the records, similar
to the noises they're now adding to CDs to make them sound real!!
OK, so how's that for an improvement?!?!
