John,
  Don't know all the circumstances about your lenghty
shipment, weight and size, but I've recieved several
items from mainland Europe in a little over a week
regular mail.  One was a very small package weighing
less then 2 pounds and about 4" square and the other
was a large padded envelope.  Perhaps yours was sent
over on a LBC (Little British Craft) ????? ;-)  I'm
currently awaiting a small item, no more then 1 1/2
lbs, from Denmark and shipping was only $7.00 and
shipper said shouldn't take more then a week.
