Just wondering if anyone knows anything about what happened to this poor
Midget:
On Saturday morning, at Carlisle, I spied a newly arrived trailer, with
a bunch of Brit car sheet metal & glass in it. Upon closer inspection,
I found a complete, late Midget Mk II, or early Midget Mk III rear half.
It was found to be entirely straight, rust-free, and in its original
white paint. What a shame! I wonder what happened to the rest of the
car? A Castrol service sticker, on the drivers side B post indicated
the last lube service at 23,??? miles.
Does this sound familiar to anyone out there? I think the piece came up
out of VA, or NC. Not a big deal, just curious.
And, yes, its now sitting in the back of my truck, waiting to be
unloaded along with the rest of the Carlisle haul. I was originally
planning to use it one my race car, and put the other sheet metal, which
Ive got coming, aside for spares. But, the more I look at it and
think about it, the more I think its much too pretty and nice to put on
a race car.
