Actually anti roll bars or sway bars do very little to stiffen the ride of
the car and even then they only do stiffen the ride if one front wheel has a
really bumpy section of road to ride in while the other side has a really
smooth
side. If both wheels are pretty much going up and down and the same time the
bar does nothing. The reason for this is that the bar sets one side against
the other. If both sides do the same thing there is nothing for the bar to act
against.

The downside to having a very thick anti-roll set up is that it creates a
tendency to introduce understeer which in a rear wheel drive car isn't a
massive
issue once you've learnt to 4 wheel drift.
