Hi,
Your turbo manifold will not stay flat no matter how flat you get it
to start. Do a youtube search for turbo Miata and see the one that
gets cherry red on the dyno. Heat, cool, heat, cool, etc will distort
your manifold. In a race there is no real heat/cool cycles to worry
about. The motor gets to operating temp, runs the race, pits, races
some more, and never really cools all the way down before the race
ends. Google space shuttle tiles and see what they're made of.
Silica? Sounds like Silicone, no? Go figure.
