I'm not sure what MK I had when I had a hardtop but I used turnbuckles
for the bolts.
Most hardware stores have them, they have a "J" hook on each end, one
side is a left hand thread, twust the middle to tighten it up.
1/4 x 20 threads on the Js seemed to work fine.
Hook one on the top, the other in the bracket and you're all set.
