Whatever you do, you should do it right.  I would look to spend more
and get it done properly, even if it means removing what is there and
digging and forming.  If what you have is cracked and you pour over
it, then the new pour will crack because there probably isn't an
adequate base.  You are adding much weight to a base that is already
weak.  This is a case where a little more money up front will save you
much grief in the future.  If you plan to stay, do it right.
