I know that the Windy City Miata Club looked into the D&O insurance and was
told that it was not recommended for a unpaid board of a non-profit car
club.
I also know that the Chicagoland MG Club had a situation a number of years
ago wherein someone tried to include them in a lawsuit against a
less-than-scrupulous mechanic who advertised in their newsletter. IIRC, the
club was exonerated, but they ceased accepting paid ads in the newsletter.
If you send an email to president@chicagolandmgclub.com , the current
president (Jim Evans) would probably have details on the lawsuit situation.
